BANGALORE: A mobile application which will help citizens identify fire safety violations and let them report it to the authorities was launched in the city on Sunday.
Named ‘Fire Champ’, city-based fire safety advocacy group Beyond Carlton, in association with IChangeMyCity.com and the Fire and Emergency Services Department, launched the application as a step towards empowering citizens and also making the city more safe. The application is free to download.
“Fire Champ, enables you to click a picture using the app, enter the description of the complaint and post it. The complaint will be shared by Beyond Carlton with the Fire Department who will take preventive action and ensure that fire safety norms are followed,” said Uday Vijayan, managing trustee, Beyond Carlton.
