Film Producer Cheats Teachers, arrested

BANGALORE: The Nelamangala Town police on Friday arrested Kannada film producer Vijayraj alias Vijay Kumar for allegedly cheating several government school teachers.

According to police sources, Vijayraj (35) had collected `25 lakh from them promising to get them housing loans and flats. He is a resident of Mahadevapura and is currently producing the film Nannane.

A few months ago, he told the unsuspecting teachers  that he had contacts with bank officials and would get them loans and sites in Nelamangala. Later, he went missing. The teachers approached the police and filed a case.
