Friends Kill History-sheeter

BANGALORE: A 28-year-old history-sheeter was murdered by his friends after he abused one of his friend’s wife at Vinobanagar in KG Halli on Friday. The police arrested two men, both sons of former corporator Mehaboob Khan, over the issue.

The deceased, identified as Syed Rahil, was also into real estate business and was arrested earlier in an assault case. He had married his girlfriend just 45 days ago after he was released. The accused are Waheed Khan and his younger brother Javed Khan.

The police said Rahil and the accused had been friends since childhood and Waheed had arranged for a party for his friend at his house. The trio consumed alcohol till early morning and Rahil allegedly abused them and passed lewd comments about Waheed’s wife.

In the melee, the brothers took a knife and stabbed Rahil. He died on the spot and the family members informed the police, who in turn arrested the accused.

Rahil was booked under the history-sheeter list in KG Halli police station in 2003 and was involved in 24 cases of attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, assault and criminal intimidation in DJ Halli, Hennur and Banaswadi police station limits. 

Woman Found Dead

A 51-year-old woman was found dead at her house in Munnekolala, near HAL, late on Thursday. Police suspect that she hanged herself over a family dispute.

The deceased, Sarojamma, is a native of Tamil Nadu and was living with her son Premkumar, a techie, and her daughter-in-law.

The incident is said to have taken place late on Thursday. Premkumar, who had gone to his in-laws’ house with his wife to celebrate Diwali, called his mother multiple times on the phone, but got no response. He then called his house owner Ganesh, who came to the house and found Sarojamma’s body.

The police have found no suicide note.
