2 Engineers Killed in Road Accident

BANGALORE : Two civil engineers, one newly married and another about to get married, were killed when a speeding car hit their bike on Hosur Road in Electronics City on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Rajkumar (25) and Satyaraj (28), both from Tamil Nadu. The duo were working for a leading real estate company in the city for the last two and a half years. Rajkumar was married a few months ago and had been living with his wife Kavita at Bhadrappa Layout near Hebbal while Satyaraj was living in a paying guest accommodation in Konappana Agrahara and his wedding was scheduled for next month.

Police said the incident occurred around 9.30 pm when Rajkumar and Satyaraj were crossing Beratena Agrahara. A speeding car hit their bike and ran over Rajkumar, killing him on the spot. Satyaraj, riding pillion, was thrown in the air and fell on the median. He received severe head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed in the early hours.

The Electronics City Traffic police have registered a case of negligence against the car driver Kantharaj and have arrested him.
