BANGALORE : An advanced wound care centre was inaugurated at M S Ramaiah Hospital by Gokula Educational Foundation chairman Dr M R Jayaram recently.
The centre aims to maintain a higher limb salvage rate and is equipped to assess peripheral circulation and predict wound healing. The centre is a joint venture by ConvaTec, a medical product company, and MS Ramaiah Hospital.
“Fifteen per cent of India’s diabetic population develop foot ulcers, resulting in 45,000 lower limb amputations a year. The clinic is a ray of hope,” said Dr Sanjay Desai, chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, MS Ramaiah Hospital.
