BANGALORE : An eight-year-old boy, who was injured when a partially demolished compound wall collapsed at Iblur near HSR Layout, died on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Maruf, son of Babul and Haseena, who escaped with minor injuries.
The couple, hailing from West Bengal, had moved to Iblur recently and were living in the shed on which the wall came down. The incident took place during Saturday’s rain when Maruf was sleeping.
Fire and emergency service personnel rescued the boy and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died.
Mayor Shanthakumari visited the spot on Sunday and promised compensation to the family.
Police have registered a case of negligence against building owner Venkataswamy.
