BANGALORE : It is only the Guru who teaches us to leave all thoughts and things behind. He gives us directions to develop dispassion with Guru japa, sadhana and partaking the Guru padodaka - the holy water that has washed the Guru’s lotus feet.
Lord Shiva says, "Always remember that only Guru's form is the Truth. Thenceforth you will not see differences in the world because guru pervades the entire universe. Then, everyone is the same and we are aware of this Truth. When differences are not seen anymore, you will see everyone as atmas souls."
"All are chaitanya shaktis or souls powered by their consciousness but unfortunately bound by their karmas. You are born to absolve your karma. Your karma is cleansed by Guru's grace. You have to move forward with your chit with no difference between each other. You should assimilate and absorb the teachings of your Guru and allow it to percolate deep within you," adds Lord Shiva.
Then the Guru teaches us to resolve, “I will not perceive any differences as rich, poor, weak, meak, young old and so on. I will bow down to the Guru Shakti in everyone. I will repair my drishti or power of perception as well as vision. With Guru’s eye of wisdom, I will only recognise the Chetana- their consciousness through proper perception. I will help everyone in whichever way possible through body, mind and intellect."
This way we can further get into the depth of Guru bhakti and Guru shakti.

One who (thinks he) knows not, knows; one who (thinks he) knows, knows not. Salutations to Shri Guru, whose thinking has no other thoughts (but those of the absolute).
Shiva is telling Parvathi just what we discussed previously. Today, we think that we know everything. Whoever thinks he knows, knows not. And he, who thinks he knows not, knows. According to ourselves, we know everything at least pertaining to our education, the domain in which we are operating.
For example, if we are engineers, we may feel we know everything under that domain, if we are a homemaker or a house wife we know everything about cooking, washing, maintaining the house, etc.
Lord Shiva says, no doubt you have trained yourself, you have learnt and therefore earned experience in that sphere, however there is no end to this learning. There are many things that we still don’t know.
Further, Lord Shiva says that we know nothing about the cosmos. This is because we think that life is meant to earn bread and butter, to enjoy and entertain ourselves. In the bargain we never enjoy peace and joy. We don’t even know who we are or who another is.
In actuality, the ONE who really knows doesn’t show that he knows. To that Supreme Guru, we must bow down. That is why Shiva says – “Let the Guru catch hold of you.”
Only then we will be able to stand a test of courage. Else we will be in a rage most of the time. The Guru encourages us towards casting off the rage caused due to dominance of our six internal enemies in our life. The Guru then fills us with courage to transcend the cycle of birth and death. Because, as human beings, we are meant to evolve unlike animals that are meant to revolve.
