CHENNAI: Education is the key to entrepreneurship, said Dr Weymouth Spence, president of Washington Adventist University (WAU), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA, at a seminar on ‘Pathway for Engineering to Enterprising’ at Shakti Mariamman Engineering College on Monday.

Dr Spence said in his speech that education was the pathway to success. “The vital aim of education is to gain knowledge in order to enhance and uphold humanity in the true sense,” he said.

Dr Spence connected the mission of both the colleges of keeping education at the forefront and encouraging students to look beyond being employed and towards employing and creating opportunities for fellow students and engineers on the path of being a successful entrepreneur.

The guest lecture saw over 350 students actively take to the beckoning of self employment and look eagerly to the prospects of entrepreneurship after finishing college.

R Rajasekaran, chairman of SMEC, felicitated Dr Spence.
