Abneet to Get a Taste of Tiki Taka

BANGALORE: Indian football player Abneet Bharti is heading to Spain for his sojourn with Spanish outfit Real Valladolid as one of the scouted talents for their international youth project.

Abneet made giant strides as he succeeded in earning a youth contact in Singapore at the age of 13 with top tier outfit Geylang United’s under-14 team following a two-week trial.

Abneet impressed one and all and such was his progress that the team offered Abneet a contract for the Under-16 team even before he turned 15. He gleefully accepted it, but soon after, he sealed a move to one of the premier clubs in Singapore in Balestier Khalsa FC as a member of their under-16 team.

Abneet is a versatile player and can play as a defensive midfielder as well as centre back. He was also called for the India Under-16 camp but things didn’t work out well with that.

With the dream of representing India and taking the team to a World Cup, Abneet seems to be on the right track as he is all set to join Real Valladolid.

“Abneet will be joining Real Valladolid. He will be completing his studies there as well. This will be a great opportunity for youth to develop their skills and train to compete with the local Spanish players and other talents from around the world,” said club scout and agent Ravi Daswani.

“I am going to Valladolid, Spain to join Real Valladolid FC which played in La Liga last year. The club has an international youth project that consists of a large scouting network. The objective of this project is not only to scout for talent in Spain but also all over the world. They find players with potential and enrol them in the club for training and education.”

“I expect this to be a great learning experience. By training with the best coaches in a great atmosphere, I hope to learn as much as I can to become a professional footballer. I expect the players there to be technically sound with a good understanding among themselves,” said Abneet.

“I believe in Abneet’s ambition and hard work. If he commits himself to it and trains hard, I’m sure in a couple of years he will become one of India’s favourite footballers. He needs to adjust and adapt fast, and be patient and learn. With dedication, I’m sure he will get a chance to play at the highest level in Europe,” said Daswani.

“We have to encourage young Indian talent to go overseas in order to get this experience. That’s the only way they can reach far and get a chance to play at the highest level,” he added.
