Four Plays for a Good Cause

Four Plays for a Good Cause

BANGALORE: Rotaract Indiranagar presents Night for a Cause — a fundraiser in association with Rotary Indiranagar today at Chancery Pavilion. The evening will include four short plays by Dramatists Anonymous and live retro music by Palmfret.

Four short theatricals will be staged by Dramatists Anonymous aka Dramanon, to keep the audience thoroughly engaged apart from the main objective of raising funds for various causes.

The first play, Defenseless Creature tells the story of a banker who is accosted by a not-so-helpless woman. Through her incessant begging, she shrilly,  irritatingly, even threateningly tries to get her husband’s insurance claim filed. Fate’s Steady Hands talks about Sam who is standing in Richard’s office  wearing only one shoe. He also has something very important to say. This play is unexpected, quirky and dark.

A man and a woman have a blind date at a coffee shop. A restart button makes this regular affair special in Sure Thing. Surgery, the last play, explores what happens when the audience walks into a dentist’s chamber while he is with a patient on the first day of his job.

The plays will be followed by a rendition of retro music by Palmfret, whose performance is sure to evoke memories of the 80s and 90s.

Funds raised as part of the evening will help in promoting causes including the construction of eye hospitals in rural Karnataka, Rotary Pulse Polio Programme, treatment for patients at Needy Heart Foundation and other projects being undertaken by the Rotaract. Guests can also donate to the causes.

Contributors who provide anything above the ticket value will be given donor passes. For tickets, call 98440-69995 or 98444-69995.
