'Sexual Minorities Should Fight for Rights'

BANGALORE: Assuring that the Judiciary would help them lead a dignified life, High Court judge Justice N K Patil on Friday urged sexual minorities to fight for their rights.

He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on legal assistance for sexual minorities organised by the District Legal Services Authority and the Department of Women and Child Development. “The Karnataka High Court and the Shimoga district court have given employment to members of sexual minority groups,” Justice Patil said, adding that he would look into all problems faced by sexual minorities and submit a report to the state government.

Principal City Civil and Sessions Court judge Vishwanath V Angadi said sexual minorities can call 1800-425-90900 to file complaints before the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority if they are attacked.
