BANGALORE: An employee of Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited has been suspended on charges of issuing work orders worth over `96 crore without informing his higher-ups, said Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister H K Patil.
Patil told reporters here on Saturday that J M Chandranath, an assistant executive engineer in BBMP sub-division (Rajarajeshwari Nagar), had reportedly put his signature in the place of the executive engineer and sanctioned the orders.
Patil said the suspended engineer had issued job rates and form No 9 by putting his signature and this amounts to violation of protocol.
