BANGALORE: The Commissioner for Public Instruction has strictly instructed all schools to follow the High Court order on implementing safety measures by October 31.

But his circular on Monday created confusion among the schools. Convener of the Karnataka Private Schools’ Joint Action Committee

D Shashi Kumar told Express, “We do not understand the need for this circular when the police commissioner had recently constituted a sub-committee at a meeting in which officials from the Education Department also took part.”

He said the committee is yet to submit the report. “And moreover, we have not received clarity from the police on implementing GPS facility in school vehicles. So, it is totally confusing for schools as to whom to follow,” he said.

However, Commissioner for Public Instruction Mohammed Mohsin said, “The High Court directed the schools to implement the order by October 31 and they need to follow the same.”
