Fomra Charitable Trust Conducts Science Olympiad

CHENNAI:  The Fomra Charitable Trust, which helps with the running of two schools and a college, conducted a science olympiad, the finale of which was conducted at D G Vaishnav College on Sunday.

More than 10,000 Class 12 students from 150 schools participated in the test and three toppers from each school were given a cash prize of `1,000 each.

The toppers contested in a final round. Based on the overall performance, Zion Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Muruga Thanushkodi Girls Higher Secondary School and Bhartiyar Matriculation Higher secondary School were awarded trophies.

Srikumar Fomra, trustee of the Fomra Trust, said though students should study hard for the public exams, they should rest adequately and not stress themselves.

Parents were advised to ensure that students maintained a healthy diet and not to pressure their children to do better than their classmates.
