BENGALURU: Mayor Shanthakumari said that BBMP’s upgraded referral hospital at Agrahara Dasarahalli ward in Govindaraja Nagar will be thrown open by February 14. The Mayor inspected the referral hospital on Tuesday.

After a medical officer complained that there is shortage of beds for patients in the hospital forcing doctors not to admit patients, Shanthakumari directed engineers to complete the construction of an additional block at the earliest. The hospital will be upgraded from the existing 30 beds to a 50-bed facility at a cost of `1.5 crore.

Later, the Mayor inspected Dr Rajkumar Ward, where she found debris dumped on West of Chord Road. She directed officials to take action against offenders and clear the debris.
