CHENNAI: The Chennai District National Green Corps (NGC) of the Department of Environment will be conducting a one-day awareness training for Chennai NGC/eco club teachers on February 11 at the Alpha Matric School from 8.45 am to 3.30 pm.
Training materials, food and certificates will be provided by the organisers. There will be no entry or registration fees. There will be lectures on pollution, climate change, water contamination and conservation, herbal saplings and forest conservation.
The guests for the day are Anitha, chief educational officer, Chennai; Sumathy, assistant director of environment, Education Department; Dr H Malleshappa, director of environment; and S Shilpa Prabhakar, deputy commissioner of education, Chennai Corporation.
