CHENNAI: Guru Nanak College celebrated College Day on March 14.Students who excelled in academics and scored centum in the university examinations were awarded certificates of merit. Best outgoing male and female students from undergraduate and postgraduate degrees were awarded with a trophy.

M Selvaraj, principal, gave the welcome address. Gunita Arun Chandhok, director, introduced the chief guest and presented the college report for 2014-15.

Marlene Morais, first woman principal of Guru Nanak College, was the chief guest. Manjit Singh Nayar, general secretary and correspondent, told students that they should strive hard in the initial years of their career to enjoy the fruit of their labour later.

The function ended with a vote of thanks by Gayathri Harikumar, HoD of BCom (A&F).
