BENGALURU: People who waited till the eleventh hour to file their IT returns online had a horrid time on Monday with the Income Tax Department’s server slowing down due to increased traffic.
A department official told Express that this happened because so many people waited till the last day to file their returns. “This resulted in heavy traffic, delaying the process of all users.”
He said those using the kiosks set up across the city also faced similar problems. “There were no problems on the first two days of the three-day drive. The last day, server issues hampered the process,” the official said.
The department is yet to assess the total number of people who have filed their returns.
