BENGALURU: A 21-year-old teacher committed suicide on Monday, allegedly because of harassment by a history-sheeter. The deceased Gayathri M, a resident of Muthanallur, hanged herself at her house in Anekal near Attibele. She was working in a government school.
Police have arrested accused Ranjith, who was the prime accused in the murder of Mutton Manju in Bommasandra. Police said Ranjith came to Gayathri’s house on Monday evening and created a ruckus. He threatened her father that he will kidnap and marry her. Following this, Gayathri went to her room and hanged herself.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Ranjith used to stalk and harass Gayathri on her way to and from work. Based on a complaint by her parents, Attibele police have registered a criminal case against Ranjith.
