MANGALURU: A first-year degree student in a college in Moodbidri was found hanging in her hostel room on Sunday morning.
Rakshita (17) was from Jayanagar in Bengaluru.
Police found a death note from near the girl’s room, in which the girl has accused a hostel warden of harassing her.
In her death note she had alleged that a senior warden of the hostel had been harassing her. The note, which is in the custody of the police, also stated that she was forced to take the extreme step after she was put through humiliation and harassment. Police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
However, when contacted, the college and hostel authorities have denied the charges of harassment.
