Bodies of 3 Children Killed by Mother's Lover Found in Bangalore

BENGALURU: The police on Monday discovered the bodies of three children reported missing since August 27.

The siblings, identified as Husna Baig (8), Abbas Baig (6) and Rahim Baig (4) were found in an isolated area at HBR Layout.

Police said they had been murdered by Fayoom Baig (23), their mother Nagina Begum’s lover.

Baig, a coolie in KG Halli, had befriended Nagina and her husband Ilyas. Soon, he began an affair with Nagina, police said.

Baig used to visit Nagina’s house every day, and buy sweets and snacks for the children. As a result, they trusted him.

When Ilyas learnt of his wife’s relationship with Baig, he left her and settled in Hyderabad, working there as a painter.

With Ilyas out of the picture, Baig lured the children on August 27 to an isolated place and allegedly murdered them. He put the bodies in a sack and left them there, police said.

He was allegedly apprehensive they would be a hurdle to his affair.

On August 27, Nagina, after waiting for her children to return from school, registered a complaint with the Banaswadi police.

Soon, the police questioned Ilyas, Nagina and their relatives. It was then that they came to know of Nagina’s affair. Police said Baig had confessed during interrogation and had been arrested.

Nagina had registered a complaint with the   Banaswadi police on August 27, after waiting in vain at the KG Halli railway station to pick up her children.

Shanthamma, attendant at Siddhartha School, had dropped the children at the railway station. She later told the police the siblings  had been taken away by someone known to them.
