BJP Targeting Congress to Hide Internal Rift: Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy

Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Wednesday said the BJP leaders are targeting the Congress-JD(S) alliance to cover up internal bickering and groupism in their party.

BENGALURU:  Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Wednesday said the BJP leaders are targeting the Congress-JD(S) alliance to cover up internal bickering and groupism in their party.

The Congress has entered into an understanding with the JD(S) to come to power in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

Speaking to reporters at the KPCC office here, the minister said, “The BJP leaders are misleading people as they have failed to get a majority.” Criticising the BJP leaders for crying foul  over the alliance, he said, “They (BJP) have no faith in democratic principles.”

He advised the BJP leaders, including the three Union ministers from the state, to spend their energies and time on securing more funds for the state, which is reeling under severe drought.

Strongly defending the Congress decision to join hands with JD(S), he said, “This was done to keep the BJP, which has totally failed in the BBMP, at bay.”

He said the citizens did not give a clear mandate to the BJP in the August 22 BBMP polls. “Despite this, it wants to grab power,” Reddy said.
