QUEEN'S ROAD: City-based IT bellwether Wipro will on Sunday organise the 10th edition of the ‘Spirit of Wipro Run’, its biggest global employee engagement event, in 109 cities across the world.

In India, the run will be held in 16 cities including Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata. At the run, Wipro employees and customers come together with their relatives and friends to celebrate the joy of running and to promote a healthy lifestyle. The ‘Spirit of Wipro Run’, which began as a race limited to one city with 2,000 participants, has grown exponentially over the decade. More than 68,000 people have already registered for the run this year.

This time, the theme is ‘run with a purpose’, and the run emphasises the need to educate children with disabilities. In 2014, Wipro Cares started an initiative for differently-abled children. In the first year, it focussed on the educational and rehabilitative needs of 1,350 children with disabilities through five projects in Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur and Hyderabad.
