Head Constable Suspended for Taking Bribe

BENGALURU:A 52-year-old head constable attached to the City Market traffic police station was suspended on Friday on charges of collecting bribe from private travel agencies in Kalasipalyam. He has been identified as Ramakrishnaiah.

Speaking to Express, S Girish, DCP, Traffic West, said that Ramakrishnaiah was caught in an internal sting operation by police officers after they received complaints from owners of several travel agencies. The head constable had allegedly threatened the owners of the travel agencies saying they were violating traffic rules.

Ramakrishnaiah had also told the owners that he had to share the bribe with senior police officers.
