Engineers Told to Inspect Wards

BENGALURU: BBMP Commissioner Kumar Naik directed ward engineers to check for potholes in their jurisdiction and rectify it before Thursday.

A day after review meeting with District in-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Naik conducted another meeting with contractors and officials on Tuesday.

He instructed ward engineers, including assistant executive engineers, to visit major roads in their wards between 8 am to 10 am.

“Engineers should fill the potholes in their jurisdiction. If potholes are found during Minister’s inspection, action will be taken against them,” Naik warned.

Naik also instructed contractors to rectify potholes if that stretch comes under their liability period. Contractors have to fix potholes if there are any within three years after a road is asphalted.

Naik warned that if they fail to fix it, the Palike will forfeit the maintenance fee deposited by them
