Man Stabbed Over Wedding Dispute

BENGALURU: A 24-year-old employee of a jewellery shop was stabbed to death by a gang of four men in Chandra Layout on Sunday night.

The deceased is Sadiq Khan, a resident of Gangondenahalli. Police arrested two accused, Nadeem and Irfan, while two others are absconding.

On Sunday night Nadeem and three of his friends had called Sadiq near Makkah Masjid and picked a quarrel over an issue. In a fit of rage they stabbed him repeatedly and fled. The locals alerted Chandra Layout police.

Based on the information, police arrested Nadeem and Irfan. During interrogation, prime accused Nadeem confessed that Sadiq was his friend for the last 10 years.

Sadiq was recently engaged to Nadeem’s wife’s sister, without Nadeem’s knowledge and this had caused frequent quarrels between them.

The wedding was to be held on October 3. Sadiq had assaulted Nadeem when he opposed the nuptials. Nadeem had then hatched a plot to kill Sadiq, police said.
