BENGALURU: For nearly two decades, Snehadeep has been training physically challenged people in livelihood and life skills. This year, they are among the 16 selected from 800 and more applicants, by HSBC, to train disabled who aspire for private and state and central governmental jobs.
The HSBC Life Skill Project and the trust  will train another 225 students who will appear for the Institute of Banking Personnel exams.

“We train physically disabled people for placement in government and private companies,” says Paul Mudha, a trustee with Snehadeep. Jaison P who was a trained here says that his four-year-old association with the institution was of “great benefit”. “I finished by training in basic computer and soft skills, thanks to Snehadeep. Now I work in Wipro and am leading a life with economic independence. I am thankfulto the trust for their support and giving me accommodation, job, health and something meaningful to do with this life.”

Manjula M, now working as a music teacher, says that she discovered her interest in the art during her time with the trust. “It is a privilege for me to be associated with the Snehadeep Trust. They helped me pursue my education, and training in computer and communication. After discovering my dream and love for music, I have found a vocation in that. I have to say many, many thanks to the trust for that.”

The trust’s focus is on the education and development of the girl child, and empowerment of destitute women. It was established by three visually impaired graduates -- Paul Muddha, K G Mohan and Shriman Narayana -- in 2009. The aim was to educate and create job opportunites for the differently-abled. Many people trained at the institute have been placed in CISCO, Vmware, Wipro, and  nationalized banks such as SBI and Canara Bank.
Currently, Snehadeep provides education to 300 differently abled students under the Integrated Education Programme.
