Road accident leaves two of family dead and four injured on NICE road

A 45-year-old woman and her brother was killed on the spot while four of their family members sustained injuries after their car crashed into a road median

BENGALURU: A 45-year-old woman and her brother was killed on the spot while four of their family members sustained injuries after their car crashed into a road median on the NICE road near Thalaghattapura. The incident took place around 6:30 am on Thursday near Sompura village bridge on NICE road when the family was returning home after performing their grandfather's death ceremony in Kalaburagi district. Shivakumar, the driver fell asleep leading to the mishap.

The deceased are identified as Bhagirathi, and her brother Shivakumar, a contractor and owner of a mobile shop. Their parents, Ramachandra and Basamma and two teenagers Bharath and Bindusri who were travelling in the car are said to have sustained injuries and rushed to a local hospital.

Residents of Pragathipura in Banashankari 2nd Stage, the family started their journey back from Kalaburagi on Wednedsay evening after the ceremony. Thalaghattapura police rushed to the spot and cleared the vehicle off the road.
