Bank manager found dead in car on Ring Road, family cries foul

A 50-year-old bank manager was found dead in his car near Kanteerava Studios on Outer Ring Road on Wednesday. His family has alleged that it is a case of murder.

BENGALURU: A 50-year-old bank manager was found dead in his car near Kanteerava Studios on Outer Ring Road on Wednesday. His family has alleged that it is a case of murder.The deceased is Muniyappa, a resident of R T Nagar. A native of Hoskote, he worked as a manager at Sudha Co-operative Bank located in Amruthahalli. He lived with his wife Mamatha and two children.

Police said Muniyappa was at home on Tuesday as it was a holiday for Independence Day. Around 7 pm, he left home in his car saying that he was heading to Kengeri to meet someone. Around 10.30pm, Mamatha called him as he had not yet returned home. Muniyappa told her that he was with somebody named Tilak and was waiting for two others. He said they had to discuss some financial issues.

When Mamatha called him again around midnight, he did not answer the call. On Wednesday, Mamatha went to R T Nagar police station and filed a missing person’s complaint. Muniyappa’s children and relatives started searching for him. The family members found his car on Outer Ring Road and his body was in the rear seat. In the complaint, Mamatha alleged that her husband had some financial commitments with a former corporator.  

Kamakshipalya police said they have registered a case of murder. “We found a bottle of poison in the rear seat. We are waiting for the postmortem report,” police said.
