Freedom fighter H S Doreswamy, on Saturday said that he’s afraid that Gauri Lankesh’s murder case will be buried soon as no arrests have been made so far.

BENGALURU: Freedom fighter H S Doreswamy, on Saturday said that he’s afraid that Gauri Lankesh’s murder case will be buried soon as no arrests have been made so far.

He was speaking at a meeting where formation of Gauri Memorial Trust was announced. People from across the state have set up the trust in the name of journalist and writer Gauri Lankesh who was murdered in the city three months ago.

The formation of the trust was announced on Friday. According to the people associated with the trust, they will be giving an award in the name of Gauri Lankesh which will be distributed every year to honour journalists who uphold the values promoted by Gauri.

The trust will also provide a scholarship for working journalists to conduct studies about oppressed communities. The trust is also planning to launch a periodical on December 4 at a function attended by eminent personalities from across the country.
