Anekal gang-rape: Three men who evicted 26-year-old Nepali victim from building arrested

Three people, who allegedly evicted the 26-year-old Nepali gangrape victim from the dilapidated building she had taken shelter in, have been arrested by Anekal Police.

BENGALURU: Three people, who allegedly evicted the 26-year-old Nepali gangrape victim from the dilapidated building she had taken shelter in, have been arrested by Anekal Police. However, cops are still groping in the dark over the gangrape culprits.A senior police officer said, “There are two separate cases -- one of gangrape and another of forceful eviction. She has identified the three people who threw her out of the building. We have no clue about the gangrape culprits though.”

So far, more than 30 suspects have been questioned but police are yet to achieve any breakthrough. Some workers had come to clean the abandoned house a day before the incident. The men from Bannerghatta found the girl staying there and told her to leave. They also threw away her clothes. The police officer said that one of them is a manager of the building but did not divulge under what charges they have been arrested. On November 23, the girl was raped by a gang, who came on bikes, at the abandoned building near Anekal.

Meanwhile, the girl is still recuperating at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital.Dr K Ravi, HOD, medicine and medical superintendent of the hospital said, “She may be discharged in a week. The cast that was put on both the limbs may be removed on Saturday. She is also being treated by a psychiatrist for depression and post traumatic stress disorder and is on anti-depressants. We are yet to talk to her on where she plans to go post discharge.”
