BMRCL sees a jump in revenue

BENGALURU: Namma Metro geared up for the launch of the commercial operations of the full Phase-I on June 18 by purchasing 2.5 lakh smart cards.

A new buyer will have to pay `100 to buy the card which is inclusive of `50 being the card cost with the balance to be used as travel fare. A maximum stored value of `1,500 is allowed and the topping up is permitted only in multiples of `50. The validity of the stored value is one year from the last top-up carried out.   

On the revenue front, too, BMRCL earned `90.68 lakh per day. “This is even bigger than the ` 90.37 lakh per day registered in October, which is the best month for revenue annually due to the festive season,” outgoing Managing Director of BMRCL Pradeep Singh Kharola said.
