BENGALURU: A group of citizens will approach Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Monday to seek support from the government for the Anekal gang-rape victim.

About 20 members from various citizen groups will submit a letter to the minister regarding this. In November, a 28-year-old Nepali woman was gang raped in Anekal. No suspects have been detained so far.
Tara Krishnaswamy, one of the volunteers, said, “We cannot be heartless bystanders and watch such inaction by the state. It could be any one of us tomorrow. I appeal to everyone to come forward and join us concerned citizens in demanding justice for her. A small group of us plan to submit a letter to the Home Minister asking for prompt police action and monetary assistance from the state for the victim.” “This is not a protest, it is simply a letter delivered in person to the Home Minister to spur state action.”
