BENGALURU:A special squad of the Transport Department conducted checks on buses of educational institutions for permit violations and other offences at Silk Board junction, Electronics City, Bannerghatta Road and surrounding areas on Friday.
A total of 500 vehicles were checked, of which 185 vehicles were booked and around 35 were seized. The vehicles booked for violations were plying without registration, permit, non-payment of taxes. Drivers of Ola and Uber cabs were found plying without wearing uniforms and some vehicles were fitted with sunfilms. The drive was conducted under the supervision of J Gnanendra Kumar, Joint Commissioner for Transport, Bengaluru (urban) and enforcement staff.
