BENGALURU: Kasturinagar Rising wants to spread the message of their work to other localities in the ward and other areas It’s been only two years since the Kasturinagar Rising formed but they have already made their presence felt with some very notable spot fixes and awareness drives.
After their major makeover of the space under the Benniganahalli Flyover, they have received widespread encouragement from citizens and authorities alike. The Mayor herself has asked members of the group to spread their knowhow and awareness to other wards and areas and this is something that the members of the group are presently thinking about.
“When you are down in dirt not many are willing to listen to you but once you get the work done there are many people who will listen,” says Ravi Kiran N.
First off the group wants to engage in more spot fixes and then reach out to other 27 odd localities in the ward. They will then go to other wards. “Before we go to other wards, we would like to first get people in the ward together and then move on to other places. We definitely would not want to limit ourselves only to Benniganahalli,” says Ravi Kiran.
To give wings to this plan, they now plan to set up an initiative called the Parivartana that will spearhead this aim.
They also want to raise awareness about the importance to vote during elections and aim to convert the low voter turnouts in the locality to higher percentages.
“The voter turnout during any election is around 55 percent from this area. We want to raise more awareness through the group”
