Chief Secretary directives to officials

Subhash Chandra Khuntia asked officials of the personal sections of all competent authorities to accept and issue acknowledgment reports sent by Lokayukta or Upa Lokayukta after thorough verification.

BENGALURU: It was revealed that the sealed covers containing the confidential report addressed to the head of the department against errant officials are sent back to the anti-graft institution, saying that officials do not work there. Or else, the personal section staff simply don’t give acknowledgment of receipt, the circular issued by Chief Secretary Subhash Chandra Khuntia states.

Khuntia has asked officials of the personal sections of all competent authorities to accept and issue acknowledgment reports sent by Lokayukta or Upa Lokayukta after thorough verification. He also asked the staff not to open the sealed cover containing the confidential report and to submit it directly to concerned officers. He has also directed that if any bureaucrat receives a report not meant for him, he should ensure it reaches the concerned officer instead of sending it back to the ACB.

The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Services) has been asked to direct all the heads of departments to inform the Lokayukta by marking the copies of orders issued of any transfer of officials or change in work allotted to them in the department.
