BENGALURU: City police on Friday detained a conductor and a driver of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on charges of sexual harassment of a working woman on moving bus. The victim had posted a complaint on a social networking site and based on the information police swung into action and arrested the accused.

Officials at the Subramanyapura Police station in the city said that the victim had made the allegations in her Facebook post and had given details about the incident. According to her, on January 10, she boarded the BMTC bus at Ragigudda bus stop in JP Nagar 2nd Phase to reach Uttarahalli. On the way she asked for the change of Rs 6 and the conductor Chandrakanth allegedly asked her to write a love letter to them. As she tried to raise an alarm, four men including the driver and conductor started touching her body and misbehaved with her. She also mentioned that the incident was similar to the Nirbhaya case in Delhi.

Speaking to Express, a senior police officer said that `the woman deleted the post after the news came in media and we are trying to reach her over phone. The conductor and driver told there was no such incident in the bus. We have taken the case and further investigations are on.''

BMTC managing director Ekroop Kour was not available for comment.
