Upset over family dispute CISF personnel shoots self

BENGALURU: Upset over a family dispute, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel committed suicide by shooting himself at Kempegowda International Airport on Monday. 
 
The deceased has been identified as Suresh V Gayakwad, 28, a native of Maharashtra, residing in the city. 
 
The police said that the incident took place at around 9.15 AM when he was on duty. He was deployed at one of the watch towers in the Airport premises. He shot himself on his head with a service revolver and the staff who heard the sound found him lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately taken to the hospital.
 
Preliminary investigations revealed that Suresh was under depression over a family dispute and he had divorced two weeks ago. It could be this that led him to take this extreme step, the police added.
