Decide what to develop — when you develop a solution or a feaure in your product, do not make it just because it sounds or looks cool. There are a lot of features that will look fancy, but their real usage or value added to the end goal of your product will be really low.

At the end of the day, you are not making a solution to extract a ‘wow’ from people, but to create a solution that adds value to them and help them use your service more.

Also, startups should remember not to use marketing tricks that are used by everyone else (including some of the most popular startups around). It is not necessary that if it works for someone else, it’ll work for you too.
One need to always remember the goal and if a particular marketing strategy is used, how will the goal achievement be measured.
