We will also approach all government and private establishments, trade unions, employers’ associations across the state to enrol  workers voluntarily for the EPF benefits. If any employer fails to enrol their employees under this scheme, then legal action will be initiated against the employer from April,” said Vijaya Kumar.

Maneesh Agnihotri, Regional PF Commissioner-I Bengaluru, said employees can also contact the EPFO’s new dedicated number if any employer is denying them social security benefits. “We will also conduct inspections at such establishments and take strict against the violators,” he added.   The Employees’ Provident Fund Act, 1952, applies to any notified establishment employing more than 20 people.   For details, visit www.epfindia.gov.in or www.epfindia.com.
