BENGALURU: GoDreams Challenge, an inter-school art and literary competition for students of Classes 1 to 12 in the city was held on Sunday.

The prelims for four competitions had been conducted over the past two months and the finals were held at St Joseph’s College Auditorium at Shanti Nagar. Over 400 students from eight schools attended the event.
The competitions were Picasso (painting contest), Mega Mind (quiz), Scribbler (story writing) and Spell Champ (spelling competition).

The eight participating schools were National Public School (Koramangala), National Public School (HSR layout), The International School Bengaluru, St Joseph’s Indian Primary School, Sarvodaya National Public School, Silver Oaks International, Army Public School and St Francis School.

National Public School, HSR Layout won the overall winner award and the Army Public School bagged the Social Impact Award for fielding the maximum number of participants. The objective of the event was to sensitise school children to the plight of children-at-risk in shelter homes and to mobilise resources for the operations of Guardians of Dreams - a social start-up focused on a research-based approach to ensure equal life outcomes for children living in shelter homes across the country.

Currently, three of their projects are going on in Bengaluru and Kochi - the improvement of shelter home facilities, providing education scholarships and providing identity documentation. Interested people who want to be part of the organisation can register at www.godreams.org/volunteer.
