Bengaluru cops fire at miscreants after attack

According to the police the inspector of Puttenahalli fired at the miscreants to protect himself and other personnel on duty with him.

BENGALURU: Personnel attached to Puttenahalli Police Station in the city fired two rounds at two miscreants who allegedly tried to attack them with a dagger, on Monday night. The personnel were patrolling the area after complaints of robberies.
 
According to the police, Dharmendra, the inspector of Puttenahalli fired at the miscreants to protect himself and other personnel on duty with him. The incident took place at 11.30 PM on Puttenhalli Lake Road.
 
Reportedly, two persons were on a bike that bore no number plate and the police personnel tried to stop them to inquire their whereabouts. However, the pillion rider instead attacked the personnel with a dagger and an official escaped from the hit in a whisk.
 
Dharmendra fired a bullet in the air and another one at one of the miscreants. Police suspect that one of the persons might have been injured in the firing. Following the same, police checked hospitals for persons admitted with gun injuries. However, none of them with such injuries were admitted, police added.
