Tiffin box left near Metro causes panic

BENGALURU: Tension prevailed near the west gate of Lalbagh Metro station after a tiffin box was found abandoned near the station on Monday. It was found to be a hoax after checks.  

Police said around 9.30pm, a security guard at the Metro station found a tiffin box in a plastic cover near a pillar that supports the Metro tracks. He immediately called police control room. Siddapur police rushed to the spot with a dog squad and combed the area. Police found firecrackers tied together and covered in paper and informed Metro officials that it was a hoax.
Pradeep Singh Kharola, BMRCL Managing Director, said, “A suspicious object was found and police are looking into it.”
A BMRCL spokesperson said the ongoing trial runs along the South Corridor were not affected by the incident. “A hoax call was received regarding a bomb at the Lalbagh station. The station was checked and no bomb was found,” he said.
Police have obtained CCTV footage to identify the culprits and a case has been filed.
