BENGALURU: The lake watchdog group United Bengaluru continued its inspection of the city’s lakes on Saturday, and yet again found multiple violations in three lakes.

The team visited Kaggadasapura, Vibhutipura and Doddanekundi lakes. They found the formation of froth in Kaggadasapura lake. Residents near Vibhutipura lake said it has become a hub for anti-social activities and untreated sewage was entering it.

At Doddanekundi lake, the sewage water was being directed to Varthur lake. Encroachments were seen at all three lakes, none of which were completely fenced.
Senior freedom fighter H S Doreswamy, upon seeing Doddanekundi lake, asked a BDA engineer, “Is this even a lake?” He added, “Citizens must join forces to question the authorities’ lacklustre approach towards reviving lakes.”
