BENGALURU: The Kengeri traffic police, who are probing the death of a teenager in a triple riding case, have identified the owner of the vehicle. On Sunday, three teenagers had gone for a joyride on NICE Road around 3am.

While 16-year-old Tejus died on the spot after the scooter he was riding crashed into a parapet wall, two of his friends riding pillion - Kishore and Manish - sustained severe injuries.
The vehicle owner has been identified as Jayamma, a resident of Govindrajnagar in Vijaynagar and Tejus’ neighbour.

A senior police officer said, “After verifying the details of the vehicle with RTO officials, we learnt that Jayamma had given her Honda Activa to Tejus. Tejus used to often take Jayamma’s scooter for rides. Since this was a routine, she did not stop him on Sunday. Jayamma will be arrested soon on charges of giving a vehicle to the minor.”Tejus was the only son of his parents. His father Nagaraj runs a photo studio.
