Drunken driving: Driver dies in Bengaluru as car hits eight vehicles

A 25-year-old man died after his car rammed into eight vehicles at Bhudihal Gate at Nelamanagala highway on Thursday.

BENGALURU: A 25-year-old man died after his car rammed into eight vehicles at Bhudihal Gate at Nelamanagala highway on Thursday. Two bikers escaped with minor injuries and traffic was affected for a while on the highway.

The deceased Darshan was a resident of Tavarekere in Ramanagara and he was into real estate business.
According to the police, Darshan was under the influence of alcohol and was driving in a reckless manner. The accident occurred around 6.30 pm when Darshan was heading towards Nelamangala Town in his Swift Desire car.

When crossing Bhudihal Gate, he lost control over the car, which rammed into  eight vehicles, including three cars and two bikes, and fell into a ditch. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed after an hour.Nelamangala Town police have filed a case of drunken driving against Darshan.
