BENGALURU: A 30-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her house in Mahadevapura, recently. Her husband, a software engineer, has been absconding since the incident.
Police, who suspect his involvement, have formed a special team to nab him. The deceased Sana Akil is a resident of Kammanahalli. She had married Mohemmed Shafiullah Shadab (35), a few years ago. The couple have an eight-month-old daughter.

They were residing in an apartment in Chikkanna Layout near Narayanapura.
A senior police officer said, “The incident took place on May 21 when Sana’s parents called her over the phone. Since there was no response to their repeated calls, they came to her house and found her lying dead in the bedroom. Her husband was not around and his phone has been switched off since then.”

Filing a complaint, Sana’s father Akhil told police that Shadab used to demand money from her and assaulted her. He had demanded `15 lakh as dowry and since we did not heed to it, he might have killed her.“A case of dowry death has been filed and we are waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death,” he said.
