Mayor Sampath Rajhops on to a scooter, does pothole check

A day after the deadline to fill potholes ended, Mayor Sampath Raj rode a two-wheeler on Wednesday to check if roads were repaired.

BENGALURU: A day after the deadline to fill potholes ended, Mayor Sampath Raj rode a two-wheeler on Wednesday to check if roads were repaired.On noticing a pothole at Anand Rao flyover, he ordered the suspension of the jurisdictional engineer Bijal Pal. He also conducted a review meeting with the West zone officials. As per the data provided by BBMP officials, there were no potholes in the zone.

To this the Mayor said that in case any pothole is seen during inspection, action will be taken against the officials.The Mayor, who came in his official car till Sampige Road, borrowed a two-wheeler from a BBMP officer and started his ride to inspect potholes. Chief Engineer (West zone) Govindaraju was his pillion rider.

He was accompanied by Zonal Commisisoner (West), Basavaraj, a KAS officer, and other engineers riding on other two-wheelers. They started their journey from Sampige Road and proceeded towards Margosa Road in Malleswaram, Maharani Ammanni College, Seshadripuram, Ananda Rao flyover, Shivananda Circle and Gandhinagar.
