BENGALURU: Police busted two drug rackets and arrested five people, including a Nigerian, in two separate cases here on Wednesday.Suraj Kumar (38), who hails from Bihar, was nabbed by Tilak Nagar police when he was waiting to deliver marijuana to his clients. Police recovered 8 kg of marijuana from him. Police questioned him and from the information he provided, they arrested his three associates — Poornachandranath (45) from Odisha, Vijay Kumar Pal (35) from Uttar Pradesh and Kamlesh Kumar (24) from Bihar.
Three years ago, Suraj came to Bengaluru to look for a job but ended up becoming becoming a drug peddler. Four of them used to receive marijuana smuggled in trains at K R Puram Railway Station. A senior police official said Suraj and Poornachandranath had been arrested earlier too and had been out on bail just one month ago.
Contrabrand seized from Nigerian
In a separate incident, a Nigerian national who peddled cocaine was arrested by Suddaguntepalya police and 25 gm of cocaine was recovered from him. Chukwu Gadwin (36) had arrived in India with a business visa in 2014 and resided in Medahalli in Hoskote, police said. He used to attend parties daily at pubs, make acquaintances with visitors and then sell them cocaine.
