BENGALURU: When I am on my periods I suffer from gastric trouble. Why does this happen? I am 20 years old.Menstruation is associated with harmonal changes and pelvic congestion, inflammation. These are manifested as bowel abnormalities and flatulence. Sometimes women can also have altered bowel motility causing gas like feeling. You just need symptomatic treatment for these. However if they are severe may one may have to be investigated for endometriosis.
I have been unable to eat solid food for 3 weeks now. Everytime I eat, I vomit. However I can drink soup and tea and other liquids. What should I do?
Difficulty in swallowing solids but not liquids is usually mechanical problem. Even though acidity because of ulceration can cause this it is better to have an endoscopy done, more so if acidity medications haven’t helped you.
